In the past you may have reached for a packet of chips, a chocolate or a cool drink to stave off hunger, but now you know the health risks of this behaviour and have adopted a new and healthier eating plan. It can be difficult to think of things to eat for snacks if you are new to the High Fat Low Carb way of eating.
1. Meat and cheese roll ups.
This is a protein and fat snack that will leaving you feel satisfied. Buy any kind of sliced meat (preferably nothing processed like polony) and some full fat cheese. Cut the cheese into sticks and then roll the meat over them. Eat 2 or 3 of these for a snack.
2. Hard-Boiled Eggs
1 or 2 hard boiled eggs make for a filling snack which boosts brain power due to their content of healthy fats and amino acids. It is also easy to make. You can make some high-fat mayonnaise and slather it on the eggs.
3. Celery sticks with nut butter
Cut 4 celery sticks into convenient lengths and smother some nut butter of your choice over the top. Yum!
If you have a blender then whipping up a smoothie for a snack is easy and delicious. Grab ½ cup of berries, a spoonful of nut butter, a handful of seeds, and some full-fat plain yogurt and blend together until smooth. You can add some water to thin it.
