Chia Breakfasts
The chia seeds are tasteless and turn to a gelatinous substance. Add to anything and everything. Add to cereal, porridge, smoothies, juices. Sprout them. Add to baby foods for extra nutrition.
Mocha Chia
• 150ml cold ‘good’ coffee• 150ml coconut cream• 1 tbs tahini (or another nut butter)• 1 tsp vanilla paste• 2 tbs stevia (or sweetener of choice)• ¼ cup chia seeds• +/- cinnamon to taste
Berry Coconut Chia
• 300ml coconut cream• 100ml water• ¼ cup chia seeds• ½ cup berries• 2 tbs stevia (or sweetener of choice)
Chocolate Coconut Chia
• 300ml coconut cream• 100ml water• ¼ cup chia seeds• ¼ cup cocoa powder• pinch salt• 2 tbs stevia (or sweetener of choice)• +/- cinnamon to taste
Chia Overnight Breakfast
Place 1/2 cup (full cream milk, coconut water or coconut milk),
2 tablespoons Chia seeds,
1 tsp cinnamon,
1 tsp vanilla powder,
1-2 sachets sweetener in a jar with a lid that can seal. Shake until thoroughly mixed, Leave in fridge overnight (6-8 hours). The chia seeds swell up to 4 times their size, and form a small, jelly like ball (much like sago or rice pudding). Fabulous eaten cold or heated in the microwave for a minute or 2.
